A new protocol combining 99mTc-Tilmanocept and ICG fluorescence enhances sentinel lymph node detection in early oral cancer, improving accuracy in complex areas like the floor of the mouth.
Continue readingTransabdominal Robotic Harvest of Bilateral DIEP Pedicles in Breast Reconstruction: Technique and Interdisciplinary Approach
This study presents a robotic technique for bilateral DIEP flap harvest using the da Vinci Xi system and indocyanine green imaging, minimizing abdominal wall disruption. Collaboration with general surgeons is advised for adopting this technique safely.
Continue readingDoes Indocyanine Green Utilization during Esophagectomy Prevent Anastomotic Leaks? Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Systematic review and meta-analysis suggest ICG use during esophagectomy may reduce anastomotic leaks, but study limitations require cautious interpretation.

ICG Product Shortage & Notice of Allocation
Indocyanine Green for Injection USP, 25 mg / Vial, Kit of 5 & 6 packs
We are currently working with our distribution partners to manage pending shortages of ICG. In late June, we initiated an allocation process for all of our distribution partners. This process has been set up and is being administered in a fair and equitable fashion.
Diagnostic Green/Renew Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of record is working diligently to alleviate shortages including working with regulatory authorities to support bringing a new manufacturing facility on-line by the end of the year. This action, along with an aggressive recovery action plan with our current manufacturer will ensure that this shortage situation will be remedied by the end of the year.
Lower Extremity Lymphatic Flow/Drainage Assessment by Indocyanine Green Fluorescent Lymphography in Heart Failure Patients
ICG fluorescent lymphography visualizes lymphatic flow in heart failure patients, highlighting significant flow in acute cases with lower limb edema.

ICG’s role in hepatobiliary surgery is expanding, aiding liver function assessment, cholecystectomy, and tumor visualization.
Continue readingIndocyanine green near-infrared fluorescence bowel perfusion assessment to prevent anastomotic leakage in minimally invasive colorectal surgery (AVOID): a multicentre, randomised, controlled, phase 3 trial
The AVOID trial shows a 5.2% reduction in anastomotic leak rates with ICG in left-sided colectomies, highlighting its effectiveness in colorectal surgery.
Continue readingThe promise of indocyanine green in colorectal surgery
The AVOID study suggests ICG use in left-sided colorectal surgeries, particularly rectosigmoid resections, significantly reduces anastomotic leakage rates.
