ICG fluorescence imaging has been widely used as an intraoperative navigation technique for liver resection. The ability to overlay ICG fluorescence imaging on a monitor in the operative field is highly advantageous during laparoscopic liver resection. In all cases of robot-assisted liver resection(RALR)performed at our department, liver resection was performed using ICG fluorescence navigation. ICG fluorescence proved useful for tumor identification and securing surgical margins in RALR. Moreover, ICG fluorescence can compensate for the lack of tactile sensation in RALR.
