Conclusion from this Italian review: ICG fluorescence imaging seems to be a promising tool in minimally invasive right colectomy. ICG fluorescence angiography is a safe technique that allows to assess bowel perfusion before performing ileo-colic anastomosis. Two reviews on colorectal resection studies stated that ICG fluorescence imaging is associated with a significant lower rate of anastomotic leakage and allows a change of surgical plane in about 10% of cases. Furthermore, intraoperative ureter and tumor identification are interesting potential application of fluorescence guided surgery
